The essential requirements for human survival include food, water, shelter, clothing, healthcare, and safety. The ACE Foundation seeks to help low-income LGBTQIA+ people in our community meet those essential needs with healthcare resources and resources to meet basic needs.

• According to the Movement Advancement Project's (MAP) Equality Maps, Kansas has one of the highest rates of LGBT youth experiencing homelessness in the country, with an estimated 16% of homeless youth in the state identifying as LGBT.
• 21.6% of LGBT adults in the United States lived in poverty in 2019, compared to 15.7% of non-LGBT adults.
• 29% of transgender respondents in the United States were living in poverty in 2015, compared to 14% of the general population.
• A report by the Center for American Progress found that LGBT people of color were more likely to live in poverty compared to white LGBT people in the United States.
